If you need an amp for just about every type of music out there, the Two Rock Emerald Guitar Boutique Amp is perfect for you. It’s one of the most versatile amps out there, and it has a number of different effects.
You can go for the standard model, or you can pick up a Custom Reverb Signature model that features an upgraded transformer for more headroom. Either way, you’re getting a great amp. (more...)
If you’re looking for a cheaper overdrive pedal that still provides a great tone, you’ll want to take a look at the Electro Harmonix Germanium OD Overdrive Pedal.
This pedal is based on and built upon the germanium transistors that were used in the 1960s to create overdrive tone. The Electro Harmonix Germanium pedal gives you complete control over the voltage and bias rather than any of the internal trimmers. Just like true germanium transistors, the Germanium OD pedal features great tone and playability, just like you’d get from pedals containing the 1960s germanium transistors. (more...)
Juke produces a number of different amps, and the Vamp 112 Boutique Amp provides just as much quality sound and tone as their other lines of amps such as the Coda, Rave, and Warbler.
The Vamp 112 boutique amp features 6V6 tubes and is a class A cathode bias amp. In pentode mode, it pulls 15 watts of power, while its triode mode uses 5 watts. Just as with all of Juke’s amps, the Vamp 112 is completely hand built and hand wired, so you know your amp has been personally assembled by a professional at Juke.
The Vamp 112 features only a single channel, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deliver. It features bias modulated tremolo, the “golden voice” vibrato that shifts pitch, and concert hall sideband reverb. The amp uses a 12 inch Weber Alnico speaker to produce its great tones. The amp includes a number of controls, including volume, treble, bass, dimension, depth, width, and speed. (more...)
Do you need a pedal that simply does one thing very well? If so, and if that one thing is to be a single mosfet boost pedal, then you need the EarthQuaker Devices Black Eye Clean Boost Pedal.
This device adds up to 30 decibels of transparent boost plus puts some sparkle in your tone. Using the Black Eye Clean Boost Pedal will give your guitar a great new sound that can’t be duplicated by any other device out there.
As one would expect, this EarthQuaker Devices pedal is very easy and simple to operate. By adjusting the level knob, you’ll be able to add or remove more boost from the front end of the amp. You’ve also get an internal trim to control the amount of gain. This is great for many guitars, especially vintage instruments that feature a fairly low output on the pickups. Since it’s not a distortion pedal, you don’t have to worry about any signal distortion—the sound and tone are very simple and dry. You can, though, use the pedal to get your amp to produce some singing distortion or make it boost your very clean signal. (more...)
The Elmwood Modena 90 Boutique Amp is the more powerful version of the Modena M60. This awesome amp builds on the M60’s functionality and design but adds more wattage for that extra power.
The Modena 90 includes two channels, each with its own EQ and both with drive functionality. While the M60 is, obviously, only 60 watts of power, the Modena 90 provides 90 watts of clear sound. Because of its high output, it actually uses a special transformer and has a heat fan on the back.
The two channels provide many different options. On channel one, you’ve got your volume, treble, bass, and middle, while channel two features these four plus gain. Drive is available on both and can be controlled with a footswitch. The Modena features two KT88 poweramp tubes that use higher anode voltage than those found on the M60. For Preamp tubes, you’ll find four ECC83 tubes. (more...)
Durham Electronics has created a number of different pedals over the years. One of their most popular is the Durham Electronics Mucho Boosto Overdrive Pedal.
This pedal features the same circuit used in the infamous Durham Electronics Sex Drive pedal. However, the two don’t share many other commonalities. The Mucho Boosto pedal has much more gain than the Sex Drive, but it features less transparency. This created a great overdrive pedal that features amazing tone and harmonic output. Instead of featuring a compression switch, this pedal has a thin/fat switch that helps voice the pedal to match your guitar. The pedal also doesn’t have true bypass; instead, it’s got a very high quality buffer circuit. This means there won’t be any colouring of your tone at all. (more...)
