VVT Lindy Fralin Boutique Combo Tube Amp
The VVT Lindy Fralin Boutique Combo Tube Amp is made in the United States by Lindy Fralin. He designed the amp himself and uses it.
This is one of the few amps to be rated a ten (a perfect score) by the users at Harmony Central, so you know it’s going to be a serious amp that puts out some great tones. The VVT Lindy Fralin is a cathode biased amp but can be switched over to a fixed biased, making it a very versatile amp. The cathode bias produces some amazing tones as low volumes, while the fixed bias produces clean tones at loud volumes. This makes the amp perfect for both smaller gigs and larger ones.
The VVT Lindy Fralin uses a 15 inch Weber 15F150 speaker, includes hand-wound transformers, and is, of course, completely hand wired. It uses 40 watts of power, JJ ECC 83 Preamp Tubes, and TAD 6L6 output tubes. It also has a Fender style long delay spring reverb, carbon film resistors, and knobs for volume, treble, bass, and reverb. The integral beam diffuser is built in, and the amp includes high quality alpha pots and a steel chasis.
All in all, the VVT Lindy Fralin amp weighs about 43 pounds and is about 20” xy 20”. New, it will cost you about $1,800, but you may be able to find a used amp for around $1,100.

Lindy Fralin Humbucker PAF 9.0K Nickel |
|
Introducing the "Pure PAF". Fralin hand-weakens the magnets to soften the treble and smooth the grind. They are clean and articulate with very good note separation. The parts used look like real PAFs and the tone is as close as we can get. These are not recommended for guitars where a coil-tap is needed. |
