Vox Amplifiers has introduced the TB35C1 and the TB35C2, two new amps created as part of their collaboration with top boutique amp maker Tony Bruno. Bruno is widely known for his unique and great sounding amps, of which he has personally hand-built more than a thousand of them. His amps have been ranked as some of the best in the world, so it’s no wonder the two he designed for Vox are getting great reviews. Bruno has been a friend to Vox for years, working with the company during the 90s on the AC30, the Night Train, and the Vox Custom Series.

In the past, Vox worked mainly on refining the British amp circuit, recreating that classic sound. However, the TB35C1 and C2 are distinctly American, something Bruno helped with. His hand-built prototypes captured the exact sound Vox wanted, and the final products are perfect for genres like country and blues. The two amps are designed to be user-friendly and include a number of different ways to customize your sound. These features include the Macho Switch, which boosts the mids and the gain. The Macro Switch aims at keeping the purity of your tone while giving your solos a little extra boost.

These two Vox/Bruno amps are all-tube amps and, besides the Macho Switch, also feature high quality reverb, a bass boost, and master volume bypass. They’re two great amps from a legendary amp designer and top quality amp company.

Bruno Amps are known worldwide for creating some of the finest tube amps. Each and every amp is custom point to point wired and handcrafted by Tony Bruno himself. Bruno has one goal for his company: to produce only the best guitar amps that provide the ultimate tone.

One thing you will never find at Bruno Amps is a factory boutique amp. Tony refuses to build amps that are assembled by companies' in such large quantities that quality and tone go by the wayside in favor of production. Every Bruno Amp is custom designed and built, and Tony makes certain to test them thoroughly before putting them in the hands of a player. He plays each amp himself and then brings in a full band to test it out to make sure the amp is thoroughly vetted. If it’s not, he takes the whole thing apart and works on it until be believes it’s as good as he can make it. We highly recommend Bruno amps for their reliability, tone and quality.

The Tony Bruno Tweedy Pie Handmade 45 Watt Boutique Amp brilliantly captures the classic tweed tone of 1955. Tony Bruno used this dual rectifier tone as the jumping off point in creating the Tweedy Pie 45 watt amp, but he didn’t stop there. He put everything he had into making an amp that refined the tone into something that was almost truly perfect. The Tweedy Pie 45 has some very sweet highs, features a warm midrange tone, and can produce full bass notes with amazing dynamics and touch sensitivity. Dial it down into the lower volume settings and you’ll find clean tones, but when you turn the volume way up, you get rich harmonics and an excellent distortion.

The Tweedy Pie is made out of solid pine and is completely hand-wired. The cabinet is incredibly strong and won’t rattle at all, plus each case is so well constructed that it will last a lifetime . It uses dual 6L6 tubes, three 12 AX7s, and two 5U4 rectifiers. The amp also features tolex coverings and chromed steel corners. It’s available in a number of finishes as well.
