The Ibanez TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer is more than just a standard tube screamer. Instead, it takes this basic concept and greatly improves on it. It features three different overdrive modes that allow you to completely control the low end. You’ll find this pedal provides warmer tones than previous pedals, and its new modes (+, Turbo, and Hot) do more than you’d ever imagine.
The TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer hit the scene in 1998 when John Lomas created the pedal at the request of Ibanez. The company wanted a tube screamer with several different output and distortion modes. To that end, you’ll find more than just the standard tone, drive, and level knobs on this pedal. It also includes a four position switch for modes. These modes include the classic TS9 mode which is no different from older TS9 pedals. Then there’s the + mode, which provides grittier tones than the TS9. Switch over to Hot mode, and you’ve got great crunchier tones that include a boosted mid-range. Finally, the Turbo mode gives you great thick bottom sounds that modern and alternative rock players love.
The TS9DX also features several sets of clipping diodes that are activated by the mode knob and several tone capacitors. These capacitors are used on the new mini-boards that also function with the mode knob. All of these features are bundled onto a very classic-looking pedal that is really quite reasonably priced: you can pick up a TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer for $109.
The world's favorite overdrive - improved! Warmth, sustain, and killer tone. That's what the original Tube Screamer delivered. This new version does the same, but adds an '80s rock vibe and '90s flexibility. Besides the original TS9 tone, it offers 3 unique new settings for adding low-end crunch.
It's back! And it's the real thing: same factory, same components, same housing, same famous seasick green paint. Most important, the same great warm overdrive that made the originals famous. Plug in and crank it up. You'll hear what all the fuss is about.
Unlock the true tonal richness of your TS-9 with a few simpe mods from Fromel Electronics. Control those tubby mids, increase your treble and bass response, and discover the hearty amount of gain that this pedal has to offer!
If you have basic soldering skills and can follow directions this is an easy project that can be completed in about 1/2 hour. Don't pay hundreds of dollars for a Boutique overdrive when you can upgrade your TS-9 for $19.95.
WARNING: Performing this mod will void any warranty your pedal may have.
This is a kit to modify your pedal and there is not a pedal included in this kit.
