Finding Deals On Vintage & Boutique Music Gear

Anyone who's into Vintage & Boutique music gear knows that finding a good deal can take some time and some serious hunting. We go from one website to the next trying to locate a particular piece of gear in the right condition at the right price. And we all know that this is just kind of the deal, just like shopping for any hard to find item, but somewhere in the back of our minds we know that in this day and age there must be a better, less time consuming way. Well I have found one solution that I think is definitely worth adding to anyone's regular search routine . Now to some of you this might be nothing new, but I'm sure there are others out there who might benefit from the info.

Google offers a service called "Google Alerts", which lets you set up real-time email alerts for a keyword or keywords. For instance, let's say you want to buy a particular amplifier - say a Carr Rambler for example sake. You go to Google Alerts and set up an alert for the keywords Carr Rambler and then anytime a piece of news or a classified listing for that item is published on the web, you get an instant email. Now you will of course get all the recent results that relate to those keywords i.e. any articles, news stories, forum posts, but you will also get classified listings.

Google alerts may be not be the end all be all with respect to finding gear, but it doesn't hurt to have something out there helping you find what you are looking for.
